Welcome from Our Rector.
As rector of St. James’ Episcopal Church, I have the privilege of serving as the chaplain to the students and their families and the faculty and staff of Saint James’ Episcopal School. I would like to think that the intentional Christian formation has something to do with the remarkable community that exists within these walls. The children are not only bright, creative, dynamic young people, but show remarkable compassion and joy. This care for one another also flows from the very capable and
talented educators that seek to nurture the whole child.
Not only am I an Episcopal Priest, but I am also the father of two children, both students at St. James’. My wife, Anna, and I have had numerous conversations that most parents have concerning the education of our children. Of course, we want the best academic environment for our children, but moreover we have sought a place that takes seriously the formation of the whole child. At Saint James’, we have found a rich academic environment that also builds self worth and individual expression, promotes care for others and a celebration of differences, fosters a loving supportive Christ centered community, and encourages service to others.
When you walk through the doors of the school, I am confident that you will experience what I see taking place here every day from the chapel to the classroom, from the parish hall to the playground. It is even more wonderful to witness the growth within our own children. At St. James’, we are not just forming citizens of our nation and world, but citizens of the kingdom of God.
Thank you for the opportunity to participate in your child’s formation. It is a humbling gift and responsibility that the St. James’ school faculty, staff, volunteers and I cherish.
Please know that regardless of your religious affiliation, we strive to make our school a comfortable and supportive place for your child. Finally, whether or
not you are associated with our parish, I am readily available for any pastoral care needs your child or family may need.
Blessings and peace,
