Saint James’ Episcopal School received accreditation from the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) in the fall of 2013. Saint James’ is the only faith-based educational institution in Fauquier County to be accredited by VAIS.

In 2011, under the guidance of Head of School Stacey Irvin, SJES started the rigorous two-year process for accreditation. Accreditation is a voluntary process undertaken by schools that are committed to continuous school improvement and compliance with the VAIS standards. At the time of the initial evaluation, SJES undertook a self-study process designed to help the School and VAIS assess the degree to which SJES met its own mission, philosophy, and objectives, as well as the many VAIS Standards for Membership.

Saint James’ Episcopal School is also a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools, the Mid-Atlantic Episcopal Schools Association, and the Virginia Council for Private Education.
