UNIFORM POLICY OVERVIEW
All uniform pieces must be purchased from our preferred uniform vendor except shoes, socks, privacy shorts, and leggings.

ELEMENTARY GIRLS' GENERAL GUIDELINES

Jewelry:

•    Small, stud-style earrings, fitted (short-strand) necklaces, and watches only.  Necklaces must be tucked into shirts at all times. Smartwatches are not allowed.

Hair Accessories:

•    Red, white, light blue, navy blue, or SJES plaid (#94) only

Outerwear (Optional):

• Navy varsity sweater,
• Lightweight ¼ zip with SJES logo (purchased from SJES), or
• Fleece jacket with SJES logo (purchased from uniform vendor)

Shoes:

• Solid navy, preferably Mary Jane-style, closed-toe
• Solid navy bows (matching shoe color) allowed
• Not permitted: Shoes with bling (rhinestones, sequins, etc.), Toms, Sperrys, or boat shoes with white soles.

Leggings:

• Full-length (no capris)
• Plain navy

K–2 GIRL'S UNIFORMS

Casual Uniform:

• Red polo under plaid jumper, or red polo with navy pants or Bermuda shorts
• Navy privacy shorts (with jumper/skirt)
• Navy shoes
• Navy cotton or nylon knee-high or turn-down crew socks, or plain tights
• Layering socks over tights is not permitted
• Navy twill pants or Bermuda shorts are only allowed with the casual uniform

Formal Uniform:

• White Peter Pan-collared blouse (short or long sleeve)
• Plaid jumper with navy privacy shorts
• Navy shoes
• Navy cotton or nylon knee-high or turn-down crew socks, or plain tights
• Layering socks over tights is not permitted.
• Navy twill pants or Bermuda shorts are only allowed with the casual uniform

GRADES 3–5 GIRLS' UNIFORMS

Casual Uniform:

• Red polo with plaid kick-pleat skirt and navy privacy shorts, or red polo with navy pants or Bermuda shorts
• Navy shoes
• Navy cotton or nylon knee-high or turn-down socks, or plain tights
• Layering socks over tights is not permitted
• Navy twill pants or Bermuda shorts are only allowed with the casual uniform

Formal Uniform:

• White Peter Pan-collared blouse (short or long sleeve) with plaid kick-pleat skirt or plaid skort and navy privacy shorts
• Navy cross tie
• Navy Mary Jane shoes (no bling)
• Navy cotton or nylon knee-high or turn-down socks, or plain tights
• Pants and shorts are not permitted with the formal uniform.

K–5 GIRLS’ PE UNIFORM

PE Uniform Requirements:

• Must be purchased through our preferred uniform vendor
• PE shirt and navy PE shorts/pants are optional—students may wear the casual red logo polo with either PE bottom
• White-based athletic shoes (school color accents only)
• White quarter or crew socks

Sock Height Guidelines:

• Quarter socks: Rise from the shoe to fully cover the ankle bone
• Crew socks: Rise 4–8" above the shoe line
• Not permitted: No-show, low, or tab socks

Boys' Jewelry: plain chain necklaces with or without a cross pendant and watches are the only jewelry permitted.  Necklaces must be tucked into shirts at all times. Smart watches are not allowed.

ALL GRADES BOYS’ CASUAL UNIFORM
Red LOGO polo with navy pants or shorts, dark brown mocs or lace-ups, navy crew socks. If undershirts are worn, they must be white. Toms/Sperrys/boat shoes with white soles are not allowed.

K-2 BOYS’ FORMAL UNIFORM
White oxford (button down) with navy pants or shorts, plaid tie, dark brown mocs or lace-ups, navy crew socks, optional belt. Toms/Sperrys/boat shoes with white soles are not allowed.


G3-5 BOYS’ FORMAL UNIFORM
White oxford with navy pants or shorts, plaid tie, dark brown mocs or lace-ups, navy crew socks, dark brown leather fashion belt (flat, not braided - your store and brand of choice). Toms/Sperrys/boat shoes with white soles are not allowed.


K-5 BOYS’ PE UNIFORM
The PE uniform tee shirt and pants/shorts are optional; however, predominantly white athletic shoes (Minimal accents in School colors only please) and white quarter or crew socks (refer to sock definitions below) are required. Boys may wear their casual red logo polo and/or casual uniform bottoms OR the PE uniform (red SJES tee, navy gym shorts/pants). The SJES PE uniform must be purchased from our preferred vendor.

Please note the following regarding sock height:

• Quarter socks rise from the shoe to usually cover the ankle bone entirely.
• Crew sock heights vary but usually rise 4-8” above the shoe line.
• No-show, low, or tab socks are not allowed.

The following uniform pieces are optional for boys:

1. Cardigan Sweater or Fleece: Cardigan sweater or fleece jacket, in navy, with SJES LOGO (must be purchased from the uniform vendor)
2. Belt for grades Kindergarten through grade 2
3. Sweater vest: Navy with SJES LOGO (must be purchased from the uniform vendor)
